WHY IS IT DONE?

Ultrasound may help diagnose medical conditions that involve many parts of the body, such as the: Heart and heart valves. Blood vessels. Organs in the abdomen (belly), including the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, or spleen.

 

PRECAUTIONS

Adults: Do not eat or drink eight hours before exam. Children: Do not eat or drink four hours before study or skip one meal. Take medications with a small sip of water. If you are diabetic, please take your insulin.
